Welcome Message from Metropolitan Business Academy

Dear Metro Students and Families,
A warm welcome to all new and returning students and families as we begin the 2026–2027 school year.
At Metro, we believe that every student should experience a high school education filled with deep learning, meaningful relationships, opportunity, and joy. Every day matters. Strong attendance, active participation, and partnership between students, families, teachers, and staff are essential to helping every student make the most of the opportunities ahead.
Metropolitan is a college and career preparatory high school grounded in the principles of mastery-based learning, project-based learning, and career-connected experiences. Through our four pathways in Law, Leadership & Political Science; Education & Leadership; Digital Media & Technology; and Business & Communications, students have opportunities to connect what they learn in the classroom to their interests, future studies, careers, and the world beyond school.
The Metro experience also asks students to take an active role in their own learning. Students participate in Student-Led Conferences, reflect on evidence of their growth, engage in projects and presentations, and ultimately complete a Senior Portfolio that demonstrates who they have become as learners, thinkers, communicators, collaborators, and contributors.
Our work is guided by Metro’s core values of Innovation, Integrity, and Involvement and by our commitment to preparing students to communicate effectively, think critically, collaborate with empathy, persevere through challenges, create and innovate, and contribute to their communities.
Most importantly, Metropolitan is a community centered on teaching and learning. Our students’ growth and success remain our highest priorities. I look forward to working in partnership with our students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners to continue building a school where young people feel that they belong, are challenged to achieve at high levels, and are prepared for the opportunities that await them after graduation.
